A photo from underneath State Route 53, known locally as Boling Bridge. The structure, which spans two counties over the Chestatee River, will change the landscape of Lake Sydney Lanier as one of its iconic green bridges. The currently used metal truss bridge will be removed once traffic is moved to the conventional steel beam and
concrete construction. The bridge replacement project involves the construction of approaches and will realign the corridor, improving the geometry of the roadway. The elevation of the new structure over the Chestatee Rive will be 17 feet higher than the current bridge when the lake is at full pool.
